Let’s look at the most divine gift you can give both yourself and the world… loving YOU!

  • Hold up your hand if you have been too busy lately to really love and nurture yourself.
  • Hold up your hand if there is a little voice inside your head giving every reason under the sun why you can’t put time aside for you…
  • Hold up your hand if you feel that you are swamped with responsibility, kids, job, partner, life’s events, chores, people, pets, pressure, deadlines, the end of the world, demands, demands, demands.

If you are holding your hand up to any of these things, then I honour you. I am holding up my hand right there with you.

Why loving yourself unconditionally is so important?

Busy, busy, busy

As a self-employed, multi-tasking mother, doing a tonne of stuff just for the love of it, I often find myself putting everyone else’s needs ahead of my own. Even though I have become incredibly adept at taking care of myself over the years, I still regularly, appear to be an expert at putting myself last. Perhaps it is even a weird kind of laziness, after all, it’s often easier to take care of others rather than ourselves.

The paradox is that I love everything I do. It feels innate within my being, an earnest expression of my soul to be of divine service. Yet, there aren’t always enough hours in the day to do it all. Finding the balance between being of helping others AND myself sometimes goes awry. One cannot exist in its fullness without the other… yet the reality of the situation is that, at times, we just need to step back from it all and take time, purely for ourselves. Sometimes we just need to totally love ourselves up!

We all need to Love ourselves

Everyone, no matter who, no matter what circumstance needs to love themselves. It’s a basic human thing. Without loving ourselves we just slowly start to wither away to dust or become brittle and cold.

We still need a reminder at times. So let’s love ourselves. Let’s not wait a moment longer. The time is now! Even if it is just fleeting, a momentary pause and breath of air, allowing the song a bird to nourish the soul or the stillness of night to send a gentle breeze through our golden wings. It might be a little (or long) walk outside, painting, drawing, writing, singing, bathing, massaging, laughing, smiling, creating. We all know what nurtures us. And when we nurture ourselves, the ripples really do pulsate outwards.

This is the most divine gift you can give yourself.

It is also the most powerful gift you can give to the world.

By loving YOU, you send out a message of unconditional love to all sentient beings.

Love yourself, exactly as you are right now…

This is for you, my friends, my fellow sentient beings, this is for us all.

This resonates with me. I’m sure you are similar to me Trinity, you look out for others and empathise over their pain but when it comes to your self you neglect to notice what’s going on.
I ended up in hospital recently because I chose to ignore symptoms of an illness, I was too busy looking out for others.
While I was sitting there for watching doctors come and go I realised I needed to take my own advice and look after my self. To give my self time and most importantly give myself some well deserved love and kindness.
    It’s not easy though.
Every day we should look in the mirror and send love to ourselves and say to ourselves we all deserve to be kinder to ourselves.
